For the first time, Brazil hosted an ESL One, part of the Major circuit of Counter Strike: Global Offense. From June 15 to 17, Brazilian fans watched the 8 best CSGO teams in the world fight for the prize pool of US$ 200.000,00. The venue, Mineirinho Arena, received 34.500 people (11.500 per day, its maximum capacity). Online, ESL One Belo Horizonte registered more than 43 million active sessions and a peak of 583 thousand concurrent viewers!

In total, more than 7.5 million hours of content have been consumed online.

Comparing with the previous largest CS tournament in Brazil, the CS:GO Pro League Season Four Finals, which happened in São Paulo in 2016, the audience of ESL One BH was 166% bigger in number of total sessions, and 53% bigger regarding concurrent viewers.

“The Brazilian crowd surely lived up to the expectations,” said Ulrich Schulze, Senior Vice President of Product at ESL. “South America and especially Brazil has and will be an important part of the e-Sports industry, and we are very proud to actively support the growth of the local community.”

The final objective of the World’s Best is ESL One Cologne 2018, which has already begun. The tournament takes place at the LANXESS Arena, in Cologne, Germany – the Mecca of e-Sports. From July 6th through 8th, the cyberathletes will compete for a prize pool of US$ 1 million.
