For Sonic’s 30th Anniversary, Antonio Teoli, a brazilian musician that produces game soundtracks, has arranged two of the songs for the special occasion. Was celebrated last week, on the 24th, the 30th anniversary of Sonic, our favorite blue hedgehog!

Many things happened during the 48 hours that surrounded the event, beginning with the launch of a acclaimed “next level” of Sonic X Minecraft collab, made specially for the 130+ million players that are engaged monthly with the squared game. You can check the official website and DLC here.

Besides that, the official team made a 2-hour livestream to celebrate. It was a Sonic 30th anniversary concert, where an amazing 60+ piece orchestra and a live rock band performed the Sonic games’ legendary musicians Crush 40 and Tomoya Ohtani’s band. Brazil Participating on Sonic’s 30th Anniversary: Antonio Teoli Games Sound Design

It’s amazing to see how far Brasil is going inside the game industry. It is both when it comes to Brazilian game industry itself and also great artist representing their country in worldwide game projects!

Taking part in the amazing project for Sonic’s 30th anniversary, the Brazilian Antonio Teoli has actively participated in the arrangement of two soundtracks for the show. The first is Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Medley, composed by Masato Nakamura and arranged by Antonio Teoli and Aruto Matsumoto. And the second one is the Sonic Game Gear Medley, composed by Yuzo Koshiro and SEGA, arranged by Antonio Teoli and Adam Clemens.

The video below is from the 2-hour streaming and it starts at the moment the first song arranged by Teoli begins, at 20:28 minutes, and the next one starts at 25:11 Both of the songs quoted above are in the sequence of the video below, of Sonic’s 30th anniversary Symphony.

Everybody knows Sonic at some point, this charismatic blue hedgehog has been making entire families fall in love since 1991. It is a series of a japanese multimidia sequel of games created by Sonic team along with Sega. It’s about Sonic’s life and how it’s always disturbed by the main opponent, Dr. Eggman.

Sonic has many productions for everybody’s fun. The main attraction is the game series, which nowadays counts on more than 90 separate games, including the originals and many other genres and variations of the game. To complement the story, so far it also has movies, comics and animated series.

Antonio Teoli is a Brazilian musician that creates soundtracks for games, recently, he has produced an amazing soundtrack for Metal Gear Solid for Video Games Orchestra during the tour in China. He’s a composer, guitar player and pianist that has chosen the gaming world to show his talents.

From 2002, he has participated in various soundtrack productions for more than 450 projects among games for console, mobile, VR, AR, SEGA Mega Drive, Master-System, and also has made songs for documentaries and advertising videos. Besides that, he worked for Hoplon, a brazilian studio, in their game Taikodom, and more recently on Skull Jones and Gunstars from Monomyto, both developed in Brazil.

Before being on Sonic’s 30th anniversary, Teoli worked for 4 years in Florianópolis with brazilian game studio Hoplon, where he created the soundtrack for the game Taikodom, a futuristic game. Later on, the artist lived for about four years in Manaus, where he was a leader for the audio department of Black River Studios, which develops mobile games and is related to Samsung.

Moving forward, he went to the USA, and now, living in Los Angeles, he keeps working as a composer and sound designer for games. His latest projects involve some indie games developed in Brazil.

Last but not least, Antonio expanded his work as a game audio creator adding love for teaching and founded Game Audio School, where he works as a teacher. This school was created to gather the industry of audio for games’ knowledge for people who have an interest to enter this business.

Brazil is making everyone proud as artists as Antonio Teoli share their talents with the world and especially within the gaming area. It was amazing to see a Brazilian game artist like him at Sonic’s 30th anniversary. As it is a growing business, many things can be expected from this Latin American country!
