Gaules began his career at CS 1.6, playing or coaching the biggest teams of the time, competed in international tournaments and founded his team “g3nerationX” achieving success in various modalities. After his time as a Cyber Athlete, in 2008 Gaules joined Samsung as a marketing intern in the IT division and left two years and four months later when he was a marketing analyst. The Streamer in the Fight Against Depression
After all the glory, Gaules entered a dark period in his life. He went to therapy, discovered demons in his past and developed a picture of severe depression, trusted the wrong people and lost everything. With no place to sleep, he slept on the floor, he had little left, his computer and a story to tell.
He started making Livestreams and found in them the strength to overcome the disease. Having an average of 10 viewers in his first month, he didn’t give up and began to grow his community, called the Tribe, alluding to the Gaulish tribes, people who, despite all the attacks of the Roman Empire, never gave up.
His Resilience, word that carries tattooed in his hand, brought Gaules to levels never reached before by a Brazilian. Since last year, he is in the Top 10 Streamers of Twitch, being the only non-English language channel among them, appearing in the 7th place of the month of April, based on hours watched.
In the first week of May, Gaules jumped to the first place, surpassing big names like tfue, Summit1g and the platform’s latest phenomenon, Anomaly. The recent success is given to the more than 5.5 million hours watched between 5th and 12th of May. In addition to occupying the first place, Gaules maintains the weekly record of live spectators, obtaining a peak of 136,000 spectators during the grand final of the Road to Rio North America, played by the Brazilians of FURIA and the American team Gen.G, where the Americans took the victory.
Despite all the success and astronomical numbers, Gaules never set aside his roots and values, always seeking to help others. All the money raised by donations at his stream is reverted to charitable actions, often helping your own viewers, whether paying a late college tuition, a rent, contributing to some noble cause or helping people in critical state of health. As Gaules always says, “The Tribe helps the Tribe.” and this echoes in his community and inspires the tribe members to do good.
